The beer industry in India is booming, and with the average age of the population on the decrease and income levels on the increase, the popularity of beer continues to rise.
Beer was introduced into India by the British, who eventually set up a brewery in the late 1820's producing Asia's first beer -- a pale ale called Lion. These days, lager is the only type of beer you'll find in India and a visit wouldn't be complete without trying some of the top Indian beers they have offer.
After hosting a sampling event and counting the online votes we have selected two Indian beers to feature on our beer list. Thank you for helping us determine which Indian beer we should serve at OM.
Flying Horse
A crisp, clean lager beer; the people of India consider it to be the finest beer in the world.
Kingfisher
This has been brewed in copper urns since 1857 and uses crystal clear water, delicate grain malt, and fine hops
